Event Prop Hire Work Experience - (Wetherby 2019)
Over the summer (2019), I spent another week at Event prop hire in Wetherby. Like my previous experience at the company I was given an insight into the world of prop and set development. While there I worked on the creation of several giant mushrooms for the 'Runefest' event. The process in which was used to create them, consisted of:

Use of Styrofoam carving techniques and equipment

Painting using special effects including paint shop experience

Team collaboration with staff in a variety of departments

Understanding of the production process form commissioning to delivery
Following the construction of the ever popular giant mushrooms, and as a thank you for hand cutting and shaping 300 individual and unique gills, I was given the opportunity to work with a prop maker on my own project, to build a replica 'Catspaw' dagger, from the series Game of Thrones. The dagger was 3D printed, I then painted the blade using an air-brush, coating it with primer and finished it with an aluminium based paint.
